Benefits of a Combi boiler

Combi Boiler is very cost-effective and energy-efficient as water is heated instantly rather than being heated and then stored in a cylinder. An added benefit is that hot water is delivered at mains pressure, which means that you could get a powerful shower without the need for a separate pump.

• Compact sizes make combi boilers perfect for small to medium properties
• Ideal where there is little or no loft space ( for adding hot water cylinder )
• No need for a hot water cylinder allows increased living space
• No cold water storage tank frees up a loft for conversion
• No risk of loft pipework freezing
• Less pipework in the home makes installation typically cheaper
• It is cheaper to run as the Combi boiler as don’t need to heat up water which is then stored in the hot water cylinder. When the temperature in the hot water cylinder drop by 4°C then the boiler will start to heat the water which consume gas and electricity.
• The efficiency of Combi boiler is around 94% ( Regular boiler efficiency is around 80% to 85% )

Disadvantage of a  Combi boiler

• When turn two taps at the same time then the pressure of hot water split and you may feel that the water running slow. Example: You taking shower and someone in the kitchen decide to wash dishes then you both feel that the hot water running slower. Normally this is no problem as you will wait few minutes while you finish with the shower and you can washing up dishes with great hot water pressure.
